1. Right-click the Start button, and click Run. 2. Type Outlook.exe /safe, and click OK. Tip: If Windows can't find Outlook.exe /safe, try using the full path to Outlook (for example C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX, where XX is your version number). Choose Start > Run, and in the Open box, type Outlook. Note: If the program loads properly, it's likely that one of your add-ins is the source of the error and you need to identify which one. To determine which add-in is the problem, enable one add-in at a time.

Repair Outlook data files. If Outlook still doesn't open, use the Inbox Repair tool to find and possibly fix the problem. Exit Outlook. Download and open the Inbox Repair Tool from Microsoft. Select Browse and navigate to your personal folders (.pst) file, then select Start. Choose Repair if the scan finds errors.

Open the “Run” dialog box (as previously described), type in the command outlook.exe /safe (note the space here, too), and confirm with “OK” If the “Choose Profile” dialog box opens, choose the standard settings and click “OK” once more
