Mapillary empowers anyone to capture their own street-level imagery and understand places better with help of our computer vision technology. All Mapillary images can be used for exploring and extracting data from street-level imagery.

Mapillary is a street-level imagery platform. For transportation agencies, the tool offers a cloud-hosted solution for right-of-way imagery and pavement imagery (imported to Mapillary as photologs of the entire road network, or as spot collections with consumer-grade cameras and phones).

What is Mapillary? At its essence, Mapillary is a place for you to share and explore the world around you through images captured and mapped across the globe. Community generated, street level imagery allows you to navigate from some of the most interesting and remote destinations to your own street.

Mapillary is the street-level imagery platform that scales and automates mapping using collaboration, cameras, and computer vision.

The new Mapillary API and vector tiles have been launched, approaching Mapillary data from a different perspective. The API focuses on retrieving information about entities, such as an image, a traffic sign, or a map feature, while the vector tiles are served from a new endpoint that we encourage using for bulk data downloads.

A notable trend is crowdsourced street view imagery, facilitated by services such as Mapillary and KartaView, in some cases furthering geographical coverage and temporal granularity, at a permissive licence.
